Erin Goodnough joined the Maryland Department of Planning in February. She is responsible for the services and activities of the Planning Department’s Planning Data and Research Division.Erin oversees and coordinates the Agency’s Geographic information System (GIS) analyses and operations as well as the development and dissemination of long range demographic and socioeconomic projections and statewide Census geographies.
Erin previously worked for MDA Information Systems, where she led teams in building geospatial models, data production, and creative problem-solving for a wide variety of customers. Prior to that, she had a long tenure as a contractor for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) including numerous overseas assignments. She has a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems from Penn State University, and recently completed her PMP and GISP certifications.
