A Maryland Planning Commissioners Association sponsored training class.

The Maryland Planning Commissioners Association (MPCA) and Planning are hosting a free Planning Commissioner Training Course (PCTC) at the Maryland Municipal League Summer Conference in Ocean City on Sunday, June 23.

If you’re new to a planning commission or board of appeals, haven’t completed the state training course or local equivalent, or just want to refresh your knowledge, join us at the Ocean City Convention Center on June 23 for a live session sponsored by the MPCA. The PCTC, led by staff from Planning, satisfies the state requirement (Section 1-206 of the Land Use Article) for planning commission and board members and members of boards of appeals.

Course topics include:

  1. Foundations of Planning
  2. Comprehensive Planning
  3. Growth Management
  4. Planning Law and Ethics
  5. Roles and Responsibilities of Planning Commissioners and Boards of Zoning Appeals Members
