Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Encourages Applications for Two Exciting Grant Programs

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) recently announced funding opportunities through the Community Health and Safety Works and Project Restore 2.0 programs.

The application due dates are April 25 and 24, respectively, so move quickly to leverage this funding and unlock the economic potential of your community! Nonprofit organizations and local government entities are eligible to apply to both programs.

Community Health and Safety Works grants support projects that enhance the livability and economic opportunity of Maryland’s Sustainable Communities and Baltimore City. Projects must advance 1) Community Placemaking 2)   Environmental Health and Justice 3) Cameras, Lighting, and Related Safety Services OR 4) Technical Assistance for Community Health and Safety Works Initiatives.

Project Restore 2.0 grants reinforce place-based economic development projects that address commercial vacancies, activate main street corridors, support small business, and/or create jobs. The program aims to build upon the work of organizations contributing to the preservation and revitalization of local business districts.
