State Seeks Local Input on Drone Usage/Regulations

The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Aviation Administration (MDOT MAA) is seeking input from state and local government officials on the use of small, unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS), commonly referred to as drones, across the state. The MAA has developed a brief, five-minute survey to assess the current state of awareness and regulatory needs surrounding sUAS and their impact on residents and communities. A statewide workgroup comprised of state and local agencies previously studied sUAS activities and patterns in Maryland and submitted a report to the Maryland General Assembly in 2019, which is linked below.
