Meet the Staff

Cara Curran joined the Maryland Department of Planning (Planning) staff as a GIS Planner in July of this year and is currently updating Queen Anne’s County tax maps.

Prior to coming on board, Cara worked for as a contractor for National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the Marine Charting Division. Her responsibilities included updating NOAA’s nautical charts.

Cara received her undergraduate degree in Geography from Virginia Tech and a post grad certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from Penn State. “As a Marylander, born and raised,” she says, “I’m a die-hard Ravens and O’s fan!” Cara is proud dog-parent to Pete — a daxun shi tzu mix — loves travelling to various beaches and playing kickball with her friends.
