April is Flood Awareness Month!

by Kristen E. Humphrey, MLA, Local Assistance and Training Planner

The Maryland Resiliency Partnership has been hard at work planning the Fourth Annual Maryland Flood Awareness for April 2024!

Be sure to watch for daily postings on social media by the Maryland state agencies that make up the partnership, including the Maryland departments of Natural Resources (DNR), Planning (MDP), Emergency Management (MDEM), the Environment (MDE), Transportation (MDOT), the Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the National Weather Service (NWS).

Two public listening sessions will be held on April 18 at 12:00 pm and again at 6:00 pm. To register, please scan the above QR code or complete the online form. The listening sessions will be an opportunity to learn about flooding preparation in Maryland and ask questions of the experts. As part of these sessions, partner agencies will share a brief slide presentation with information about various resources that they, individually, and the Maryland Resiliency Partnership, collectively, can provide.
