The Maryland Department of Planning (Planning) would like to extend its sincerest thanks to the many participants, presenters, brownfields site tour leaders, and advisory committee members who made our 2022 brownfields conference a terrific success!
Maryland’s Second Statewide Brownfield Conference is being held on Wednesday, November 16 and will provide a forum for local governments, consultants, attorneys, developers, and non-governmental/community organizations to learn and share information about brownfields.
The group will delve into how revitalizing land through brownfield cleanup and redevelopment/reuse can bring improvements in equitable access to recreational spaces in Maryland’s communities and serve as A Walk in the Park for All.
Please join the Maryland Department of Planning (Planning) on Wednesday, November 16 for our 2nd statewide brownfields conference for local governments, consultants, attorneys, developers, and non-governmental organizations to learn and share information about brownfields.

As part of the Maryland Department of Planning’s (Planning) ongoing commitment to advancing brownfield assessment, remediation, and redevelopment in the state, the department hosted a three-part webinar series in June. Entitled “From Due Diligence to Redevelopment,” the three-part series provided information and tools to officials and community stakeholders, with sessions about environmental due diligence, the new ASTM Phase I ESA Standard, and revitalization and redevelopment.
The sessions provided attendees opportunities to learn not only essential environmental and statutory requirements for brownfield property transactions from regulatory, legal, and consultant experts, but also the chance to benefit from the redevelopment knowhow of federal, state, and real estate development specialists. Recordings of the sessions can be viewed on Planning’s website.
